Sidney Lance

Homestead Insurance Agency Inc. and its owner and president, Robert (Rob) Rapp, are part of a family insurance tradition dedicated to personal service to you, our customer.

Sidney H. Lance, Rob's grandfather, started selling insurance in 1921 and in 1934, at the age of 34, founded one of the first agencies in Medina County. Sid continued to work in the agency until 1965, when he retired and Rob's stepfather guided the company until his retirement in 1984. Rob joined the agency in 1974, and in 1981 was transferred to Brunswick to operate that office (originally established in 1957), which later became Homestead Insurance Agency Inc.

At the end of 1984 the family sold its interest in the Medina agency to new management. This provided an opportunity for Rob (now 34 years old) to purchase the Brunswick agency in 1985, continuing the family insurance tradition.
